tardigrad:

Cordyceps, a genus of endoparasitoid fungi that mostly prey on isects or other organisms with quick reproductal rates.

They attack by invading their host’s body and replacing its tissue with its own. Some species can overrule their victims natural instincts, so that before they die, the victim will climb to a high point and attach themselves to a leaf or a twig, all to better allow the elongated fruiting bodies of the fungus to repeat the cycle over again with its airborne spores.

Rince and repeat!

AAA YES pretty much my favorite creepy natural thing ever
